Scope of Work
UNA-Canada seeks a part-time Digital Content Coordinator passionate and knowledgeable about the capabilities of online engagement and communications to expand, create, and manage content for Generation SDG’s online community and other communication portals.
Digital components include, but are not limited to social media, digital media, newsletter writing, video production and editing, the integration of the current dashboard into UNA-Canada's website (Wix), sponsorship activations, community partnerships.
Working side-by-side with the project team, the Digital Content Coordinator will:
create original, engaging, and high-quality content - such as newsletters, e-mail campaigns, blog posts, training materials, symposium content for participating youth, alumni, and community partners.
support content ideation and design review of the digital learning tools developed by a consultant.
adapt the brand’s voice and tone to ensure developed content successfully communicates UNA-Canada's mission & values.
help identify new opportunities to grow the team’s brand through content for all programme components (mental health program, digital learning tools, SDG hub for youth and partners, etc.)
assist the team with logistical communications support for training sessions and events throughout the year.
develop, write, monitor and publish content for the online community platform for youth and partners.
assist in content coordination for the SDG series of the Between Two Flags podcast.
Assist with posts scheduling, engagement monitoring across all social platforms to inform performance reports and analytics; continually refine Generation SDG’s content on the website, online community for youth and other platforms as needed.
liaise with existing partner and seek sponsorship opportunities to support communications potential partners.
carry out any other duties related to communicating project success or as requested.
You'll be a good fit if you...
Are fluent in both French and English
Can use excellent written communication skills to create compelling content for website and brand copy, social media, email marketing, and other external communication channels to engage youth and community partners.
Are strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize competing tasks to meet tight deadlines.
Can approach problems with creative, experimental, and non-traditional solutions
Have previous experience and/or are comfortable with copy editing.
Have knowledge of building online audiences or communities founded on genuine strategies and connections.
Have experience working with content management systems (CMS) and cloud-based web development platforms such as Wix, Azure cloud, IIS and MSQL Server database using .net
Have exceptional organizational abilities and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines, multitask and prioritize;
Have strong attention to detail to work independently, taking into account that Generation SDG has many moving parts.
Have video and audio software editing skills (iTunes, Spotify, Soundcloud, Audacity).
Are driven and ambitious in the pursuit of your own professional development.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will fulfill the following education, experience and skills requirements:
University degree in Communications, Digital Media, Public Administration, Education, International Relations, Business, Marketing; or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience;
Experience with Strategic Communications and Marketing -- certification or courses taken will be an asset;
Enough experience producing content for social media, in-game videoboard elements, sponsorship and managing social media accounts for non-profit organizations.
Experience with Adobe creative suite and Hootsuite
Renumeration The position pays between $27,000 and $29,100 per year. This contract is for 8 months and two weeks.
