The GEF Assembly is your chance to make a real impact and bring your voice to the forefront of global change! We are thrilled to invite you to join our volunteer program, where you'll be an integral part of the Assembly's conference team, gaining valuable experience and insight along the way.

• At the heart of our Youth Engagement Action Plan is the goal to meaningfully engage a diverse cohort of Canadian youth like you. Whether you're a delegate, volunteer, advocate, innovator, or implementer, we want you to be a vital force in shaping the future.

 

What's in store for You:

• As a volunteer, you'll play a crucial role in supporting delegates and the overall programming of the GEF Assembly. You'll have the opportunity to learn about the GEF and the global decision-making processes while making a tangible difference. This is your chance to be fully embedded in the Assembly, making connections, and leaving your mark.

 

What you need to know:

• We're looking for 70-90 enthusiastic youth to fill various volunteer roles during the Assembly. Each volunteer is expected to contribute a minimum of 16 hours of support over 4 shifts. Don't worry, we'll provide you with pre-Assembly training to equip you with the necessary skills and cross-cultural communication techniques. Throughout the Assembly, you'll receive guidance and support from UNA-Canada staff and/or branch volunteers serving as volunteer coordinators. They'll ensure your role is fulfilling and act as a bridge between you and the GEF Secretariat.

 

Exciting Volunteer Roles Await:

• Airport Kiosk: Dates: August 20 – 23, Shifts per Day: 3, Minimum Volunteers per Shift: 4.

• Badges and Registration 1: Dates: August 22 – 23, Shifts per Day: 2, Minimum Volunteers per Shift: 6.

• Badges and Registration 2: Dates: August 24 – 26, Shifts per Day: 2, Minimum Volunteers per Shift: 4.

• Information Desk: Dates: August 22 – 26, Shifts per Day: 2, Minimum Volunteers per Shift: 4.

• Side Event / Room Managers: August 22 – 26, Shifts per Day: 2, Minimum Volunteers per Shift: 6.

 

Who Can Participate:

• If you're between the ages of 15 and 25 and don't require travel or accommodation support, we want you! To be considered, you must be committed to working a minimum of 4 shifts, each lasting 4 hours.
