ECOSOC FORUM

UNA-Canada Service Corps successfully brought their first delegation to the 8th Annual ECOSOC Youth Forum in New York City. Three young Canadians participated in side events, panel discussions and were able to interact with a variety of global participants. The Forum took place at a critical point in time as the world is working to address the disadvantages of the current trends in globalization, which are not sufficiently sustainable or inclusive. The Forum addressed the theme, “Empowered Included and Equal” in preparation for the High-level Political Forum (HLPF) which will focus on inclusion and equality. Canada Service Corps is a federal programme that aims to encourage young Canadians between the ages of 15 and 30 to get involved in meaningful service opportunities while practicing leadership, developing skills and gaining essential life and work experience.
