Today marks seven years since the tragic crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 on March 10, 2019. Among those lost were four members of the United Nations Association in Canada (UNA-Canada) community who were traveling to Nairobi to attend the United Nations Environment Assembly.

Stéphanie Lacroix, a dedicated UNA-Canada staff member and delegation head, was accompanied by three passionate young delegates: Micah Messent, Danielle Moore, and Angela Rehhorn. Together, they were representing Canada and UNA-Canada in conversations focused on advancing environmental cooperation and sustainable development.

Each of them embodied the spirit of global citizenship that guides our work. They were committed to building a more peaceful, just, and sustainable world, and their passion for international cooperation and youth engagement continues to inspire our community today.

On this anniversary, we pause to remember Stéphanie, Micah, Danielle, and Angela, and the optimism, leadership, and compassion they brought to the world.

Their legacy continues through the work of the young leaders, delegates, and partners who carry forward the mission they believed in.

Stéphanie, Micah, Danielle, and Angela, you remain forever in our hearts.
