
The High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) will take place from July 7-July 15, 2026 at United Nations Headquarters in New York City. As the UN’s central platform for reviewing the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), HLPF brings together world leaders, youth advocates, innovators, and civil society members to assess global progress and drive forward inclusive, sustainable solutions.
HLPF 2026 will serve as a critical moment to accelerate action in the final stretch toward 2030, with a focus on transformative, equitable, and coordinated solutions that address interconnected global challenges. It provides a unique opportunity for youth to engage in high-level policy discussions, contribute to global dialogue, and amplify community-driven solutions on an international stage.
To be eligible, applicants must be:
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or individuals with refugee status, and must reside in Canada for the duration of the program and event.
- Individuals temporarily in Canada on non-immigrant visas (e.g., students, tourists) or living abroad are not eligible.
- Youth participants are typically between the ages of 18 and 30 (inclusive) at the time of the event.
- Applicants should demonstrate a clear passion and active involvement in advancing the SDGs through community initiatives, academic research, advocacy, entrepreneurship, or innovative projects.
Strong candidates will show a commitment to equity, collaboration, and creating impact at local, national, or global levels. If you require a travel visa to attend HLPF 2026, please indicate this in your application. While support letters may be provided, it is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they meet all U.S. entry requirements.
