UNA-Canada plans to continue implementing the Generation SDG: Youth Action on the SDGs project in Ottawa, while expanding to new regions of Cornwall and Kemptville; and seeks to recruit a Community Liaison in each targeted city to assist with the overall implementation of the project and to ensure its broad reach to diverse youth and community organizations and businesses.
The overall responsibility of the Community Liaison is to:
Act as the focal person for the project in the region for Generation SDG;
Participate in briefing sessions planned by UNA-Canada to become familiar with project specifics and expected deliverables;
Work closely with UNA-Canada’s Project Officers (PO) and Project Manager (PM) to ensure an efficient and effective implementation of the project in each targeted region;
Assist with identifying youth and confirm their participation in project activities;
In Ottawa, reconnect with former Ambassadors and re-engage with them as appropriate;
Identify like-minded community organizations with similar objectives and recommend ways to engage them in the project activities;
Coordinate training sessions in consultation with PM, to enhance knowledge and skills among targeted youth, engaging subject-matter experts as appropriate;
Carry out any other activities as requested by the PM and POs.
Qualifications and Skills
An ideal Community Liaison would:
Have demonstrated leadership and youth engagement/management skills;
Be self-directed and able to work independently and remotely, yet a flexible team player;
Possess knowledge of, and active engagement with youth from diverse cultural and social economic communities and backgrounds;
Have a maturity level to work with senior management officials, business partners and relevant local officials;
Be able to organize events that engage multi-stakeholders;
Have knowledge of social media; and
Possess a valid Police Record Check (PRC) within a one-year period.

This is a part-time temporary contract paying total stipend of $3,960/10 months (12 hrs/month), payable monthly and upon submission of an update on verifiable deliverables.
