The 10th Annual Conference of the Northamerican Interfaith Network

Brief Description:The Edmonton Interfaith Centre for Educatioin and Action is sponsoring the tenth annual conference of the North American Interfaith Network (NAIN). They expect a registration of 100 to 150 people from all over North America representing interfaith organizations as well as individuals who are committed to interfaith and multicultural understanding in our society. The featured speaker at the conference banquet on Monday, August 3 will be Rosemary Brown. Tickets to the banquet will be available for those who are unable to attend the whole NAIN Conference.

Neighbourhood facilitation: Peacebuilding from the bottom up in pre- and post-war societies

Brief Description: This is an integrative training course that is designed for both civilian and militarty personnel who are involved with or have an interest in peacebuilding at the community level. The aims of the course are to provide practical skill-building and preparation in the “neighborhood facilitation” model for community-level conflict resolution and social reconstruction in societies such as Bosnia, expand awareness of social, political, cultural and psychological context in conflict-laden communities and explore and develop cooperation between civilian and military people to build sustainable peace. The course will be mainly interactive and experimental. The contents include Peacebuilding players, Strategies for civilian-military cooperation in field operations, Roots and dynamics of conflicts and Third-party interventions.
The cost for the course is $750 USD which covers tuition, lodging and food (scholarships up to $375 USD may be available to qualified applicants).

1998 CBA Annual Conference
