Nunavut Territory The Nunavut Territory is currently following the social studies curriculum for the Northwest Territories (see Section ¡, page 9), and will likely adopt the newly drafted Western Canadian Protocol (WCP) Common Curriculum Framework for Social Studies (see Section ¡, page 15). The framework is a result of the Western Canadian provinces collaboration on Basic Education, agreed upon and signed in December 1993 by the Ministers of Education of Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories and the Yukon Territory. On March 10, 2000, this agreement was amended to include Nunavut Territory.
