Due to the anticipated large size of this link-site,
it is being broken down into sub-categories to permit users to access
specific information with minimal upload time. As such, this section
is organized and broken down into the following themes:
- Sites Covering a Broad Range
of Issues -- includes three main categories: sustainable development,
environment and development
- Sites Covering a Specific
Environmental Issue -- such as atmosphere, biodiversity, forests,
oceans etc.
- Sites Covering a Specific Developmental or Cross-Sectoral
Issue -- such as poverty, population or finance, institutions, legal
instruments etc.
We will be focussing mainly on both official sites of UN players (including
UN programmes, specialized agencies and other bodies) as well as other
sites which also cover the UN and its work on sustainable development.
In addition, we plan to include a few notable sites such as sites which
provide good background information on an issue; key Canadian federal
government or institutional sites which include information on Canada’s
role in the UN on sustainable development issues; and key website gateways
providing a range of links to other websites.
