UNA-Canada Project > Multimedia & Multiculturalism Programme (M&M)

The United Nations Association of Canada proudly presents the Multimedia & Multiculturalism (M&M) project. This initiative is a diversity and education project that reflects a commitment to social cohesion and youth engagement in Canada. With generous funding from Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), the project brings together community members, media networks, local organizations, national partners and existing UNA-Canada regional branches across Canada (Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Saguenay, St. John's, Quebec, Belleville, Hamilton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, Kootenay, Vancouver and Victoria).

Through M&M activities, UNA-Canada mobilizes youth internships with media organizations, regional and national roundtables, a knowledge transfer forum and design educational tools on media engagement. Through these activities the project enhances the role media plays in the contribution and inclusive representation of under-represented groups living in Canada. M&M addresses the realities and challenges faced by ethno-cultural racial minority communities in all levels of the general media.

This dynamic initiative is implemented in Halifax (NS), Montreal (QC), Ottawa (ON), Toronto (ON), Regina (SK), Calgary (AB) and Vancouver (BC). We will soon be launching our website which will feature blogs, discussion forums, media resources and will keep you undated on activities in your region. Stay tuned and get involved!
