Press Releases Blue Ribbons Now Available Across Canada April 4, 2002- The United Nations Association in Canada is pleased to announce that Blue Ribbons are now available at all participating Canada Post outlets across the country. "The blue ribbon symbolizes the values on which the UN was founded - peace, cooperation, and tolerance. They are to be worn on the lapels of all Canadians who wish to demonstrate their commitment to these values, their support for peaceful resolution to local and global challenges, and their pride in Canada's reputation as a peacebuilding nation," says Steve Mason, Executive Director. "They put forth a prominent message of hope and peace to the Canadian public at large." Proceeds raised through donations will support the public education and outreach programmes of UNA-Canada - with a primary focus on those which educate young people from a global perspective and challenge them to develop the tools and skills necessary to confront some of the world's most complex problems.
