Human Development Report The United Nations Association in Canada and the UN Development Programme (UNDP) cordially invite you to the Canadian launch of the Human Development Report 2010.
Buy the 2010 Report! (available as of November 4) The Human Development Report is an independent publication commissioned by the UN Development Programme (UNDP). The reports, published annually since 1990, contain thought provoking analyses of major issues, updated Human Development Indicators that compare the relative levels of human development of over 160 countries, and agendas to help transform development priorities. The series advocate a shift in the development debate away from a sole concern with economic growth (which is only a means – although a very important one – to serve human ends) toward a balanced concern for equity, sustainability, productivity and empowerment. The Report’s signature trademark, the Human Development Index (HDI), serves as a successful alternative to GNP as a measure of development. Information about the Reports, including the full texts for recent issues, is available at www.undp.org UNA-Canada has been responsible for the Canadian launch of the Human Development Report for over ten years.
