To celebrate the United Nations International Year of Youth
(August 2010-August 2011), the United Nations Association
in Canada, together with the AMC Theatres, is showcasing
the Air Drumming sensation ADVENTURES
OF POWER which premiered at Sundance and went on
to win over audiences around the globe. Writer/Director
Ari Gold will be in attendance at this exclusive screening.
The Canadian premiere of the directors
cut of Adventures of Power is an outstanding example of
the years theme of Dialogue
and Mutual Understanding. More
than just a rock n roll comedy; the film is
an epic fable about making something out of nothing, and
trusting in your own heartbeat as a way of changing the
world.
On the red carpet, WEEKEND
RIOT CLUB will perform a song entitled Waking
Up The World, written to inspire youth to realize
their true potential; that there are no limits to what we
are capable of.
This film, like the UNs
International Year of Youth, is an opportunity to showcase
the great resource youth in our communities can be, especially
when provided with opportunities to understand their responsibilities
as global citizens Kate
White, Executive Director of United Nations Association
in Canada.
