On 5 March 2009, UNA-Canada's Champions
Amongst Us Reception will celebrate
the vision, commitment and remarkable achievements of several
outstanding Canadian women from the Ottawa region who are transforming
Canadian society through leadership and service.
8 March 2009 marks the 100th Anniversary
of International Women's Day, and offers a valuable opportunity
to celebrate past accomplishments and gains; pay tribute to current
efforts; and focus on the challenges that still lie ahead in working
towards equality, justice, peace and development for women.
Funds raised will support the youth, educational
and community-based programming
of the United Nations Association in Canada.
