"On the Road to Brazil" Series

A series of issue papers seeking to inform Canadians about the key issues which were under negotiation at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), popularly known as the Earth Summit, held in Brazil in June, 1992. Each paper, ranging from 4 to 7 pages in length, discusses the global problems relating to each issue (approx. 3/4 of each paper) and then outlines the main concerns to be covered at UNCED. Prepared in 1991, the sections relating to preparations for UNCED are clearly dated, however the sections outlining the global problems are still, largely, relevant.
