A Foreword... When I get a letter in the mail that begins: "Dear Friend," I know that somebody is after my money. So with you, dear friends, I will try another tack. How about: "Dear Enemies"? Sounds hollow? My heart isn't in it? Maybe if I drop the "Dear"? Ah well-- I am just trying to get off the ground. Can't believe it. This is my seventh annual round-up on the United Nations. Something Biblical about seven-- something about plagues. Then comes the reward. Hope springs. Enough of jollity. What I give you is a one-man tour through our United Nations, following the September-December 1997 session of the General Assembly, the 52nd session. I touch on major issues-- from my perspective, that is. Don't read too much into what I have left out. I can't bring it all in. The United Nations is our world. We need to know what is happening here, and what is not. Whether we like it or not.
