Liaison Newsletter > LIAISON Volume 5, Issue #2, July 2001
Notes from the 2001 Annual General Meeting National Board members and representatives of every Branch except Victoria gathered in Quebec City the week-end of June 8 to 10 for the Association's Annual General Meeting. As always, it was a dynamic opportunity for the key activists within the Association to share experiences and ideas and develop personal relationships in support of our mutual commitment to the UN in this country. There was also an opportunity to hear from Ms. Carolyn McAskie, Deputy Emergency Relief Co-ordinator in the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Afairs, about the critical work of her office. In addition to the more formal business aspects of the meetings there was the initiation of a full strategic planning process for the Association which will explore all aspects of our structural arrangements, financial procedures, programme initiatives, etc at both the national and local levels. Recommendations for change and/or redirection will come to the 2002 AGM (scheduled for next June in the National Capital area), although it should clearly be an on-going process to ensure a dynamic and effective organization.
The National Board of Directors for 2001-2002 is as follows:
