» Chief Content Officer
UNA-Canada is seeking a Chief Content Officer to develop and deliver a communications strategy that will include development of consistant, high quality and informative content for current and prospective donors, board members, branches, employees, volunteers, local authorities and elected officials and engaged Canadians. The CCO will engage with stakeholders while increasing loyalty, value, and consistent brand awareness nationally and internationally. The chosen candidate will have a track record aligned with monetizing and meeting the objectives of the Association’s Business Plan. This position will report to the President and CEO.
Responsibilities
- Capacity building in support of the Association’s Business Plan
- Reach and engage our members, donors and supporters through targeted marketing
- Produce a consistant stream of communications pieces, including UNA-Canada's annual report, funding proposals and donor stewardship materials
- Lead as change agent for progress and innovative technologies
- Lead as a strategic communicator for the Association's programming, assessing and addressing upcoming project communication needs
- Correspond with Project Directors for aligned branding and media and provide content support where needed
- Develop, plan and implement media outreach for UNA-Canada events
- Monitor contact points (social media) for content changes, inquires and general security
- Build and expand, with the support of the development team, the Association’s database, membership and major donors
- Identify, plan and develop business opportunities through strategic implementation of content management
- Support the President and CEO in strategic outreach.
Qualifications
- Bilingual English/French communication skills essential
- Advanced degree preferred in journalism, communications, marketing, political science, business or a related field
- Proven track record of relationship building and maintenance towards action (i.e. fundraising and opinion mobilizing)
- Minimum five years experience interacting with the media, (i.e. securing national media and writing news releases)
- Excellent knowledge of governments, federal and provincial/territorial
- Excellent writing, analytical, diplomatic, research and problem solving skills
- Demonstrated experience using social media tools to build brand awareness
- Refined editing, proofreading and design skills
- Exceptional consulting and interviewing skills
- Extensive knowledge of NGOs and UN/Canadian relations an asset
- Priority will be given to those with advanced working knowledge of; Microsoft Suite, Word Press, design programs/software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom, SketchUp)
