UNA-Canada's Council of Organizations is a non-voting membership category open to all Canadian non-for-profit organizations, unions and foundations.

The Council's objective is to create a cross-sectoral network of organizations which are committed to the values on which the United Nations was founded and which care about the UN's progressive reform. A one-year membership costs $100.00.

At a time when some of Canada's media outlets are doubting the relevancy of the United Nations and some of our political leaders are publicly questioning its utility, there is a significant need to demonstrate that Canadians care about the United Nations, want it to be effective and believe that it should be at the centre of our foreign policy.

Members of the Council of Organizations:
> demonstrate their support of the UN to Canadians and Canadian decision-makers;
> support the efforts of UNA-Canada to build a grassroots movement for the UN through education and public engagement;
> have the opportunity to collaborate with UNA-Canada and other Council members on joint public statements on topical UN issues;
> are invited to participate in UNA-Canada's annual Council of Organizations Forum on relevant UN issues;
> are invited to UNA-Canada special events and Annual General Meetings;
> have access to UNA-Canada's informative listserv on UN issues and developments; and
> are profiled on UNA-Canada's website.

Several like-minded organizations have approached UNA-Canada to ask for tangible ways through which they can demonstrate their commitment to the United Nations. Joining the Council of Organizations is one important way.
