Clean Talk is a UNA-Canada project that was developed
in response to the UN’s International
Year of Sanitation (2008) in recognition of the 2.6
billion people around the world who are without access to basic
sanitation. This project raises awareness among Canadian children
and youth on sanitation issues. It also builds critical thinking
skills to create solutions-based approaches to address the problem
of inadequate sanitation among the world’s underserved populations.
Working in partnership with the Upper Canada District School
Board (UCDSB) and with support from the Canadian International
Development Agency (CIDA), UNA-Canada has developed educational
activities and tools to engage teachers and students in grades
6, 7 and 8 and youth in grades 11 and 12 to learn about global
sanitation issues.
Upcoming Event:
UNA-Canada is coordinating a Sanitation Exhibit on March 27,
2009 in Kemptville, Ontario to show-case youth creative solutions
toward the goal of “Sanitation for All.” For more information,
